2020 sightseeingExperience the stunning landscapes and picturesque moments expressed in “20/20 Sight Seeing” by Marion R. Anderson, the latest art installation at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. This exhibition is set to open on August 10, 2020 and there will be an opening meet the artist celebration held in September.

Marion R. Anderson's unique mixed media technique is ever evolving over time. She works in series, completing a suite of paintings to express a concept or idea before beginning the next series. Heavily textured, each piece is rendered in a limited palette, suggesting a unique visual experience for the viewer's interpretation. One exploration simply leads to another! Known for her textured works that celebrate her rural background, love of florals, and association with the Great Lakes, Anderson explores the universal idea of creating from lived experience. Anderson was the winner of the “Bruce Roots” juried art show in 2017 held at the BCM&CC in celebration of Bruce County’s 150th.

“This is an exhibition to say, “thank you”, for all you have taught me in the classroom, the studio and the gallery,” says artist Marion R. Anderson. “May my sight-seeing journeys continue with you for many, many years to come!”

“We are pleased to be reopening the BCM&CC with such a beautiful art installation for our patrons to explore,” states Cathy McGirr, Director, Museum & Cultural Services.

20/20 Sight Seeing will be open from August 10, 2020 until December 31, 2020 and is proudly presented by 98 The Beach.

The BCM&CC is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning on August 10, 2020 to Members and beginning on August 24, 2020 to the public. To reserve your time to explore Bruce County history and for additional information about this exhibit visit brucemuseum.ca.
