Brent Fisher has been hired as the Manager of Community Development and Marketing for the City of Owen Sound.
The new position was created through a staffing realignment, which better reflects the current need within the City and results in significant savings to the taxpayer. The Manager of Community Development and Marketing replaces the Manager of Economic Development & Tourism and the Communications Advisor positions, which were both vacant.
"Brent is an energetic go getter, who has shown a real ability to work with Council, staff, members of the public, and various City partners," said City Manager, Wayne Ritchie. "His knowledge of the City, along with his experience in marketing, will be a tremendous asset to Council and Senior Management as we continue to grow the City."
Mr. Fisher is currently the Facilities Booking Coordinator for the City and previously was the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League.
Mr. Fisher will assume his new position on Monday August 28.
