wallinpark

This letter has my complete support.I live just below (west) of the park , and I know of no other semi-wild parkland in this part of the city. The open land along the east shore is virtually all private property, waiting to be developed.

This developer has, apparently, been buying up available vacant land at a rapid rate - as noted in the letter - but surely the interests of all the residents of Owen Sound ought to carry more weight than those of a single developer.

I think one value of this public parkland has been clearly demonstrated during this Covid-19 crisis, as an area where residents can walk, get some exercise and enjoy nature, all at minimal risk in spite of the various health-related restrictions imposed on us right now due to the pandemic.

I, like so many others, am counting on members of City Council to keep this location as public parkland, thereby ensuring this beautiful park will continue to be an asset for the enjoyment of the entire community, while at the same time offering protection to the diverse wildlife that inhabits the park.
