camp in a boxAre you tired of coming up with activities at home to keep your little explorers busy? The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is excited to launch an all new program called “Camp in a Box”.

When “KidZone Day Camp” was cancelled for the 2020 summer, staff knew they wanted to provide something else for families. Time was spent re-imagining programs and virtual delivery possibilities and “Camp in a Box” was created.

"Kids may not be able to come to our camps this summer, but that doesn't mean our camps can't come to them!” says Mike Schwindt, Education/Outreach Coordinator. “This was the idea behind “Camp in a Box”, we have so much information -and so many activities we just couldn't wait to share it all."

Spend the summer travelling through the BCM&CC’s exhibits from the comforts of your home or backyard with hands-on activities, challenges, and videos. Each “Camp in a Box” includes supplies for two children and is geared towards ages 5-12. Younger explorers can also enjoy the activities, they’ll just need some assistance from older siblings or adults. You can purchase one week at a time or subscribe to the service for the entire summer. Each week’s theme is connected to the 65th Anniversary activity that is uploaded weekly to the website and travels through Bruce County.

Watch for the weekly promotional video on the BCM&CC’s Facebook page on Fridays sharing the topic for the following week’s “Camp in a Box.” Then place your order by noon on Tuesdays and grab & go pick up is on Thursdays between 12:30 pm & 2:00 pm out front at the Museum.
