The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Based on these results, the beaches, which were posted as unsafe on August 15, 2014, are now deemed safe for bathing.

Beach water sampling from Monday, August 18, 2014 at Lion's Head Beach (Northern Bruce Peninsula) shows bacterial levels exceeding Ministry standards. As a result, this area will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.

Updated results are pending from samples collected at Southampton Beach, Station Park Beach (Kincardine) and Port Elgin Beach that were all posted unsafe for bathing on August 14, 2014.

The public is reminded that water conditions can change quickly. High winds and heavy rain are likely to have an adverse impact on water quality.
