This weekend the Owen Sound North Stars U19 Elite Women’s Field Lacrosse Team competed in OWFL B division tournament play on Saturday July 17th.

The U19 Elite Team will compete in their final weekend of OWFL tournament play on Saturday July 24th.

The Owen Sound North Stars U13 B team had exciting tournament play this weekend, coming home with Silver. Here is how it happened:

Game 1 vs Hamilton the Northstars came out with a 9-3 Win! Scoring for the Northstars was Mya Good with 2 , Lilly Shute with 2, Jenna Cranney with 2. Ella Todd, Charlotte Fox and Addison McCoubrey all added single goals.
Game 2 the Northstars took on Newmarket.

The Northstars scored a total of 8 goals in a 8-4 Win. Ella Todd had 2 goals, Lilly Shute also added 2. Jenna Cranney, Charlotte Fox, Mya Good and Ainsley Smith all scored one goal each. Annabelle Evans was solid in net stopping any scoring opportunities for Newmarket.

Game 3 was a tough back and forth battle against Halton Hills. Scoring for the Northstars was Mya Good with 2 goals, Ally Scott with 2 goals, Noelle Brewster with 2 goals. Addison McCoubrey added a goal. The game went into a sudden death overtime where Northstar Jenna Cranney scored the golden goal to give the Northstars the win!

Game 4 the Northstars came up a little short against Oshawa 2 losing 9-4. Scoring credits go to Lilly Shute who scored 2 goals, Jenna Cranney who scored 1 goal and Noelle Brewster who scored 1 goal. Goalie Annabelle Evans made many incredible saves to keep a close game.

The U11A team had another great weekend of play in Halton Hills Sunday. Defence was strong and offence continued to find the net.
They started play early against Orangeville. They came away with a 7-1 win, with Ella Todd scoring 4 and Reese Holman, Avery Thompson and Briar McCoubrey netting one each.

The girls then met Kawarthas for the first time. They hustled and maintained their strong start, coming away with an 8-0 win. Ella Todd scored 5, Callie Sarvis, Avery Thompson and Olivia Neil scored one each.

After a small break, Owen Sound met K-W 2 in the B-division semi- finals. It was a close match, but the girls continued to work as a team and had a 3-1 win. Goals go to Ella Todd (2) and Briar McCoubrey (1).

Advancing to the B-division finals, the North Stars met the Beaches. After two quick back and forth halves, Owen Sound came away with a 9-7 win. Goals scored were: Ella Todd (7), Briar McCoubrey and Reese Holman one each.
Harper Lines played 4 solid games in net, coming away with her first shut-out.

The girls were all smiles and are looking forward to playing next weekend for the last tournament of the season. Great Job girls!
