  •  The Owen Sound European Bakery U19 2 girls split their games on Saturday in Oshawa despite being short players. The girls faced Hamilton in their first match and fell 11-5. Scorers were Kassie Long, and call-up Bree Wilkins with singles, and Edyn Beyer with 3 goals and an assist.

    The team then faced Halton Hills in their second game taking it 9-5. Owen Sound scorers were Edyn Beyer with 3 goals and 2 assists, Maddy Playter with a pair, and Bree Wilkins, Aliviah McColl, Michelle Kocher and Leisl Stata tallying one each. The game was hilighted by great play by Payton Duwyn on defence and some big saves by Hayden McComb in net.

    The team finishes their regular season play on Saturday when they travel to Brampton. 

  • The Owen Sound U-19 Creative Playgrounds Women’s Field Lacrosse team had an early morning start to their back to back games in Oshawa on Sunday. The U-19’s fell short in their first contest against Orangeville losing by a score of 17-13.  Goal scorers were Kennedy Stauffer (5), Tara Meikle (4), Brooklyn Doyle (2), Dani Strong (1) and Taylor Cheghano (1).

    Owen Sound won their second game versus Oakville by a score of 17-10. Tara Meikle led the team in scoring with 7 goals, followed by Kennedy Stauffer (3), Karly Lowe (2), Emma Bryan (2), and singles from Taryn Lee, Brooklyn Doyle and Taylor Cheghano.

    The Owen Sound U-19 Creative Playgrounds team take the field again for back to back games next Friday night in Caledon starting at 7:00 pm.
