The Stanley Cup brought a lot of joy and wonder to Owen Sound
during Scotiabank Hockey Day In Canada week. Festivites wound
up Saturday, Jan. 21, with a nation-wide broadcast from Harrison Park.

Hockey Day In Canada is saying good night after a week of hockey celebrations wind up in Owen Sound and the traditional down-home broadcast event fades to black.

Saturday began with the Girls Hockey Fest at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre which flowed into Olympic-calibre action as PWHPA stars took to the ice in a showcase game for regular season play.

Team Scotiabank won the fast-paced match, blanking Team Adidas 3 - 0 before a capacity crowd.

The Stanley Cup got to do something most of us only dream about – it rode in a fire truck, right up on the ladder platform, as it paraded through the streets of Owen Sound from downtown to Harrison Park Saturday morning.
