The Ontario Tourism Summit is an industry-wide business conference for members of Ontario’s tourism sector to learn the latest trends, share new ideas and best practices, network with colleagues, and recognize leaders at the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence. The Summit is taking place on Oct. 29th from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and Oct 30th from 8:20 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Blue Mountain Village Inn & Conference Centre, and features sessions highlighting important tourism advocacy issues, trends and business development.

Summit keynote sessions and speakers include:

  • Transformational Tourism - How Tourism Helped Rebuild Greece’s Economy presented by: Victor Maligoudis, Consul General, Consulate General of Greece.
  • There's a Crisis With Your Name On It presented by: Andrew Weir, Executive Vice President, Destination Development, Tourism Toronto (Moderator); James Henry, Vice-President of Hospitality, Blue Mountain Resort; Rod
  • Raycroft, Executive Director, Northeastern Ontario Tourism; Alexandra Rodgers, Director Research & Policy, Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO); Warren Weeks, Media Trainer, Weeks Media.
  • Trending in Spending – Where and How Is the International Market Looking presented by: Chris Baron, Senior Vice President – Sales Central & Western Canada, Global Payments.
  • Tourism Investment - Getting Beyond the Wish List presented by: Fran Hohol, Senior Director, Tourism and Leisure Group, CBRE Canada; Rebecca Godfrey, Director, Tourism and Leisure Group, CBRE Canada.

The Hon. Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport will be addressing delegates on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 8:20 a.m. The Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Blue Mountain Village Conference Centre is at 242 Jozo Weider Blvd, The Blue Mountains.
