The Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Connect Marketing to present a Bee Gees and Rod Stewart tribute concert in Owen Sound in November.

I write to you today in response to a letter written by Mr. David McLaren on the Owen Sound Hub website on July 20th, 2015 and in the Owen Sound Sun Times on July 24th, 2015. In his letter Mr. McLaren makes many falsified assertions about the intentions of the current Government in relation to the negotiations surrounding the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). This letter serves to correct this misinformation and unsubstantiated fearmongering by presenting the facts about free trade and Canada's system of supply management.
To begin, Mr. McLaren makes the assertion at the beginning of his article that trade agreements are somehow not in line with Canada's national interest. With one in every 5 jobs and 60% of Canada's national wealth directly linked to Canadian exports, I would say that these agreements
are 100% in line with our national interest.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Meaford.
On July 22, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a woman walking a white terrier on the waterfront near the museum was confronted by a brown labradoodle that proceeded to attack her terrier. In her attempts to separate the two dogs, the woman was bitten. The labradoodle ran off.
Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment. If you have any information related to this incident, please contact the Grey Bruce Health Unit at 519-376-9420.

In the absence of the Hub's Editor, I sat in on Owen Sound council and made the following observations:
The majority of councilors arrived dressed down to look cool in the heat. I've never seen so many delightfully ugly shirts on elected officials.

Just 30 days are left to sign up for the Bayshore Race. The event is set for Sunday, August 23rd. Race Director, Greg Nicol and organizers hope to welcome more than 500 participants, 60 volunteers plus hundreds of spectators!
Runners and walkers can register online by visiting onlineregistrations.ca. Registration forms are available at Runner's Den, from the Foundation office or can be downloaded from the Race website. Last minute rates for all events come into effect August 19th.
"We're really excited to host our sixth Bayshore Race" said Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation Chair Neil McCutcheon. "The Bayshore Community Centre is a great venue, the scenery is spectacular and we have an important cause to raise funds for." All proceeds support the Hospital Campaign, for better cancer care.
