Owen Sound's newly-minted city council took centre stage for the first time Monday night in a ceremony at the Roxy Theatre. In this video, the new councillors thank supporters and citizens and make their inaugural remarks.


Arlene Wright, who was re-elected as deputy mayor and also represents the city of Owen Sound at Grey County Council, made her inaugural remarks at a special ceremony at the Roxy Theatre Monday evening.


Owen Sound's new mayor, Ian Boddy, made his inaugural remarks Monday evening in a special ceremony at the Roxy Theatre. Among other themes, Boddy struck a tone of unity and collegiality, saying residents expect council to work as a team.

parking-regOwen Sound - The City would like to remind all residents that effective December 1, 2014, on-street parking will be prohibited between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. until March 31, 2015, in accordance with Traffic By-Law No. 2009-075.

We ask that City residents please advise your overnight guests of this Traffic By-Law during this winter season.

city-hall-featOwen Sound – The City of Owen Sound will be holding a Ceremony for the Declaration of Office and Inaugural Council Meeting on Monday, December 1, 2014.

This historical event will be taking place at 7:00 p.m. at the Roxy Theatre, 251 9th Street East, Owen Sound. The Declaration of Office and Inaugural Council Meeting will also include a procession of the dignitaries and special musical performances by the Georgian Bay Children's Choir and the Eighth Street Orchestra.

The public is invited to attend this free event.
