tire-winter-opp-regCHATSWORTH - Drivers should be cautious when approaching intersections, especially during the winter months, Grey County OPP warn.

In winter, the approaches to a stop sign can become more slippery than the rest of the road. When approaching an intersection you should decelerate well in advance to avoid a possible slippery condition.
During a power outage when traffic signals are not functioning, the intersection becomes a four-way stop. Even when you have the right-of- way at a stop condition, always watch the vehicle approaching the intersection to make sure they come to a complete stop safely.

opp-snow-regSOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY – During the recent winter storm, South Bruce OPP officers closed some area roads in the interest of public safety. Some of the road closures lasted for days, which is inconvenient and frustrating, but driving on a closed road is not just illegal, it's gambling with safety.

During the last storm, warnings were given and charges were laid as South Bruce OPP officers encountered vehicles on the closed roads. A few motorists chose to drive around a road closed barricade and continue driving along the closed road in the presence of a marked police cruiser.
