QUEEN'S PARK – Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker slammed the new Ontario Liberal budget Tuesday, calling it "reminiscent of the movie Groundhog Day."
In a news release, Walker said he is "miffed" that the Liberals' so-called Mega Infrastructure budget with "$130-billion in spending goodies has again by-passed communities in Bruce and Grey."
SOUTHGATE – On Saturday, July 12, 2014 at about 11:45 p.m., the Grey County OPP received a report of an assault on Southgate Rd. 10 in the township of Southgate.
Officers who were patrolling the area during a Holstein Rodeo event were approached by a woman who reported that she had just been assaulted by another woman in an unprovoked attack. The 25-year-old victim, from Grey Highlands, suffered minor injuries to her face as a result of the assault.

A group of local boys and their parents have organized a Lemonade & Cookie Sale emergency fundraiser this weekend. All proceeds are to benefit the Johnson family, who suffered a devastating house fire last week, through the United Way Bruce-Grey Fire Support fund.

The suspicious male, police were attempting to identify, attended the Chatsworth Detachment earlier this evening, Monday, July 14th, and spoke with an officer.
MEAFORD – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspicious male, claiming to be an exchange (or college) student, who is looking for homes with small children allegedly for a project he is working on.
Between Friday, July 4th and Sunday, July 13th, 2014, police have received three similar reports from residents on the 8th Concession and the 12th Line in the Municipality of Meaford; as well as Sideroad 1 in the Township of Chatsworth.
