Thanks to the Maples who give shade and shelter, and a highway of branches for squirrels to escape. Thanks to the people who planted them — a hundred years ago? — people we never met.
They are starting to let their leaves fall, one tumbled down the trunk half yellow, half brown.
Thanks this weekend to everyone at Summerfolk, volunteers, board members, production crews and artistic team helmed by James Keelaghan. It’s a new approach, and like this tree, the festival will continue to adapt, but the spirit is there.
Thanks to the ones who planted the festival, especially Tim and John Harrison, and the ones who have cared for it through the years. Grateful to be a part of the harmony this year. Still time to join us on the banks of the Sydenham River with the Ostertag-Homzy Quartet.
