Have you been wondering what Proportional Representation means? On June 18th, representatives from Fair Vote Canada will explain how it works. Liberal Candidate Kimberley Love, NDP Candidate David McLaren NDP and a Green Party Representative will also present their parties' positions. This will be followed up by round table discussion.


Thursday, June 18th, at 7:00PM in the Roxy Theatre Lobby, three awesome people will pitch their ideas to the Awesome Owen Sound Trustees for a chance to win $1,000 and do something awesome for our community, no strings attached.
The three people chosen and the ideas they represent are: Caroline Menzies - Women's Healing Through the Arts, Kelly Babcock - Little Libraries, and Nicole Gienow - Feral Cat Rescue. Doors open at 6pm. Admission is free but space is limited.


Friday, June 19th, at 6:30PM, The Sportswriters – Live At The Frog Ponds Café. John Brownlow and the boys bring on an evening of original music and savvy musicianship to woo and wow you. A pay what you can event.

Saturday, June 20th, 2:00PM to 4:00PM Join Maryann Thomas for Jane's Walk Owen Sound. Explore tenacity and transition with business owners as she curates her observations over 30 years, with discussion on the evolution of the downtown.

Sunday, June 21st from 2:00PM to 3:30PM at the Gazebo at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, Aboriginal Day 2015 - Metissage: from Newash to Mudtown, a program of poetry, music and song telling a few stories of that other Owen Sound, that real but mainly unrecorded world, whose true history is yet to be written. The players are Larry Jensen, Mary Little, Rob Rolfe, Susan Schank & Richard-Yves Sitosk.
In case of rain this event will be held at the Metis Centre 380 9th street east Owen Sound.

Monday, June 22, 2015 Sarah Warren's feature film, MLE, a comedy spy caper that premiered at LOCO, the British Film Institute's Comedy Film Festival where it received the Discovery Award will be screened at the Roxy Theatre ! MLE has been chosen for several more film festivals throughout Europe and North America, and continues to be recognized for its excellence. This is a fund raiser for the Tom Thompson Art Gallery. One night only, 7 PM screening, tickets $20.00. For attending the Red Carpet at 6PM, which includes cocktails with Sarah and some cast & crew, tickets are $40.00.
