treeAfter three years, resulting in 56 local tree nominations, 8 gallery exhibitions and 6 sold-out lectures, the Extraordinary Tree Project will culminate with the final exhibition and book launch at 7:00pm on Friday November 18 at Grey Roots & Archives.

Conceived by local artist Stephen Hogbin, the project was created as a celebration of the natural and cultural value of trees in Grey and Bruce. It became a collaboration of the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, Grey Roots Museum & Archives, the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, Fanshawe College and several volunteer naturalists.

The Extraordinary Trees exhibition at Grey Roots will highlight a number of the local tree nominations. The Extraordinary Tree Project book contains all 56 tree nominations as well as curators' statements from the exhibitions and summaries of the lectures. Illustrated throughout in full colour, copies of The Extraordinary Tree Project will also be available at The Ginger Press in downtown Owen Sound after the launch.
