The Tom Thomson Art Gallery will be entering construction starting Monday, Mar. 20, undergoing important accessibility upgrades, including the reconstruction of the front entrance and the replacement of the Gallery’s passenger lift with an elevator.

The Gallery will remain open to the public with the entrance being relocated through the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library adjacent to the building. There will be no wheelchair or elevator accessibility at the Gallery due to this work. Also, there will be reduced parking spaces along 1st Avenue West in front of the Gallery to accommodate the front entrance construction.

The anticipated completion of the project is May for the front entrance and July for the replacement of the elevator.

This project is funded through a substantial grant from the Canada Community Revitalization Fund and the City of Owen Sound.
