Georgian Tryatrade

*****

Georgian College is hosting a Try A Trade event at the Owen Sound Campus Wednesday, March  29 from 5 to 7.

Future students and their supporters will get to explore our state-of-the-art lab spaces and take part in hands-on activities in the skilled trades. Plus, they can meet expert faculty, current students and local employers to learn more about career pathways.

There is a shortage of skilled trades workers in Canada, so if you like working with your hands, this is an opportune time to start. Georgian has outstanding facilities, faculty and employer connections to help start your career.

"This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in the skilled trades to see firsthand what they’re all about. There’s a lot of opportunity in Grey-Bruce for people wanting to work in the skilled trades, so there’s never been a better time for someone to get into trades training," said Dave Shorey, Executive Director, Owen Sound Campus.

Those who come out to the Try A Trade event will also be able to apply for free to a Georgian program.

Reasons to explore the skilled trades at Georgian:

  • Open up an entire industry full of career opportunities
  • Become job-ready from here, or begin your apprenticeship
  • Dedicated skilled trades labs offer exceptional hands-on learning opportunities
  • Learn through a mix of in-class instruction and project-based learning
  • Enjoy smaller class sizes, taught by experienced, certified instructors in skilled trades

Registration is recommended but walk-ins are also welcome.
