March Break is just around the corner and the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is ready to provide you and your family with a fun filled week of adventure. Whether you’re looking for ‘KidZone Day Camp’ or planning to bring the whole family for a day of discovery with ‘March Break Family Fun Days’ the Museum has a wide-range of activities for you.
Each day of ‘March Break Family Fun Days’ discover a variety of guests, themes and movies playing on the big screen. Explore the history of Bruce County to learn how the railway changed transportation, board HMS General Hunter to experience an 1812 battleship replica, and spend some time in the technology lab.
Throughout the Museum there are also many self-led activities and crafts to enjoy. The week of guests kick-off on Monday March 11 with Vita Bowen leading a Circus Workshop where participants will learn awesome tricks. Tuesday cook up some fun where all of your little chefs are invited to participate in a cooking class led by local business “Little Black Dog Catering”. Then on Wednesday you won’t want to miss the Drumming Circle with Mary Jean. MacGregor Park staff will be at the Museum on Thursday to learn about the fascinating world of Bruce County animals. Friday is all about Awesome Astronomy with John Hlynialuk who will be making a presentation at 11:00 a.m., following lunch John will be also be leading telescope demonstrations. Finally, on Saturday stretch the week out at morning yoga by Melissa. This fun filled week is free for Museum members and general admission applies for members of the public. ‘March Break Family Fun Days’ is proudly presented by Judy Rich Barrister & Solicitor and Rotary Club of Southampton. At the March Break KidZone Discovery Day Camp, children will be entertained with daily themes and activities! Kids aged five to twelve can sign up for a single day or the whole week; each day will be filled with crafts, experiments, outdoor adventures and time in the exhibits to explore. Space is limited; pre-registration is required and can be completed by calling the Museum at 519-797-2080. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., early drop off or late pick up may be arranged for an additional fee.
