The Grey Bruce Health Unit is working proactively with Glad Tidings School in Tara, Ontario. Out of an abundance of caution, the Board of Glad Tidings school has decided to temporarily close the school effective November 27, 2020. 

Glad Tidings school and Public Health have an optimal collaborative relationship that facilitates the appropriate, respectful and safe development and implementation of COVID-19 protocols and procedures.  

Public Health has not identified a case of COVID-19 at the school, and there is no evidence of transmission of COVID-19 within the school environment. There are no outbreaks; that is, evidence of transmission from person to person, in any schools or childcare centres, in Grey Bruce.

Public Health will continue to work on a return to school plan for Glad Tidings staff and students ensuring that all safety procedures are in place to protect the health and safety of the school and the community. Public Health is thankful for this collaborative relationship, and the proactive efforts within this school and community.
