Megan GarlandBruce County is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Garland as the new Director of Long Term Care and Senior Services, effective April 29, 2021.

As a member of the County’s Senior Leadership Team, Megan will oversee Bruce County’s Long Term Care homes in Wiarton and Walkerton and will work in partnership with the Administrators and staff teams at both homes to ensure the provision of effective and compliant service to our residents and their families. Megan, working with community partners and Bruce County departments, will also explore Bruce County’s role and engagement needs in the broader senior services of the Bruce and Grey community.

Megan Garland joined Bruce County in December 2020 as the Administrator at Gateway Haven in Wiarton, bringing with her a wealth of understanding and experience in long term care service delivery, both as an Administrator and as a senior leader responsible for a system of several long term care homes.

“Bruce County’s Long Term Care Homes remain in full compliance with the Long Term Care Homes Act and all associated regulations. Earlier this year, Bruce County developed and announced a new structure for oversight of our long term care homes and related senior services. We welcome Megan Garland into her newly created leadership role of Director, Long Term Care and Senior Services,” noted Councillor Chris Peabody, Chair of the Long Term Care Homes Committee of Management.

Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and Gateway Haven in Wiarton continue to ensure a robust pandemic response, an Essential Caregiver Program, and virtual visiting opportunities. Families can continue to contact the long term care home Administrators with any questions and concerns.
