dog-attack-fullThe Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred at the Port Elgin Harbour in Saugeen Shores.
The incident occurred on the breakwater at the Port Elgin Harbour south of the Harbourlite Restaurant at approximately 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 3. The dog is described as medium size, white in colour with long hair. It was on a leash at the time of the bite and was being walked by a female.
Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
