Job ApplicationLarry Miller, Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, is pleased to announce that a total of $594,954 will be received by 142 local employers to fund 259 job opportunities for students in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

The Canada Summer Jobs program provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employers to create summer job opportunities for young people aged 15-30 who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year. Since 2007, the program has provided job opportunities for over 330,000 students across Canada.

"I am very pleased to see that a large number of employers will be receiving funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program to create opportunities for young workers," said Miller. "As the school year is wrapping up, this is a great way for local employers to hire young workers for the summer and also a great way for students to gain valuable work experience while also saving money for the following school year."
