hanoverpoliceThe Hanover Police Service wants to thank everyone for their ongoing efforts in doing the right thing to protect our families & our communities as we continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. It has not been easy for anyone and the challenges have been, and continue to be, many.

On Friday, April 16, 2021, the provincial government announced a number of new restrictions on public gatherings that:

· Prohibits all outdoor social gatherings and organized public events, except for with members of the same household or one other person from outside that household who lives alone or a caregiver for any member of the household;

· Closes all non-essential workplaces in the construction sector;

· Reduces capacity limits to 25 per cent in all retail settings where in-store shopping is permitted. This includes supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, indoor farmers' markets, other stores that primarily sell food and pharmacies; and,

· Closes all outdoor recreational amenities, such as golf courses, basketball courts, soccer fields, and playgrounds with limited exceptions.

The Hanover Police Service will continue with the same measured, common-sense approach when it comes to navigating and applying current and new Provincial Orders. While Officers will focus on compliance through meaningful conversations and education, enforcement will be complaint driven and proactive. In situations where citizens flaunt the law, enforcement action will be taken.

By working together and closely adhering to public health safety protocols, we can all help protect our families, friends, neighbours and communities.
