OS-Policesept-fullJust after the lunch hour on Monday January 8, 2018, two vehicles collided in the intersection of 10th Street and 9th Avenue East, in the city of Owen Sound.

The collision caused a substantial traffic delay around the busy artery in the poor weather conditions. The investigating officer has determined however, that the weather was not the contributing factor, but was caused by the inattentiveness of a 37 year old; who had been driving southbound on 9th Avenue East.

During his inattentiveness, the driver proceeded through the intersection, against the red light and struck an eastbound vehicle that had a single-axle trailer in tow. There were no injuries sustained by either driver. The vehicles received moderate damage from the impact.

We remind drivers to be attentive at all times when operating a motorvehcle.

The man has been charged with failing to stop for a red light.
