On June 28, 2020, members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) marine unit were patrolling the waters of Lake Huron when they stopped a vessel to conduct a safety inspection. Officers found the vessel was being operated without any of the required safety equipment on board.

A 45-year-old Ottawa resident was charged with a safety equipment violation under the Canada Shipping Act - Small Vessel Regulations.
