MEAFORD - On Saturday, November 15, 2014, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a break-in at a residence on Lakeshore Road North in the Municipality of Meaford.
Sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on November 15th, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence through a back door. A briefcase had been pried open. Police believe the culprit(s) fled the residence through the front door when the homeowners had unexpectedly returned home.
A Michael Kors ladies watch, valued at $350, was stolen.
GEORGIAN BLUFFS – On Sunday, November 16, 2014 at approximately 9:25 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a driver injured as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Grey Road 16, west of Concession 6. in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Investigation revealed the lone driver was operating a 2002 Ford pick-up truck westbound on Grey Road 16. The vehicle entered the south ditch and collided with a tree causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
The 32-year-old driver from the Municipality of Meaford was taken to a local hospital and was then air lifted to a hospital in London with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
On Nov. 16 at approximately 6:30 pm, Owen Sound Police were called to a residence in the 900 block of 7th Avenue East in regards to a 50 year old man who assaulted his parents.
The Owen Sound man was on a probation order to abstain from drinking alcohol. His elderly parents attended to check on him as they believed he was drinking. The man was found drunk while sleeping in his bed. When his parents awoke him to talk about his drinking, the man became angry and assaulted his parents by pushing them into walls and closet doors.

Friday night at the public library you couldn't find a single shushing librarian in the place. As a matter of fact, they were playing ukeleles and leading a holiday sing-along that could only be described as delightfully cacophonous.
This is the first year that the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library has had programming on the opening night of the Festival of Northern Lights. The staff made the decision collectively, and they were pleased by the warm response from the public.
Speaking at a Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting this week, MP Larry Miller fielded questions from attendees about the fate of Owen Sound Harbour. Miller said he has "staked his reputation" on the harbour's being dredged, and that he expects the federal government to cover the cost.
