education community planningBluewater District School Board and Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board are partnering to invite local community organizations, including upper and lower tier municipalities, to attend the Annual Community Planning and Partnerships meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. The meeting, which will be held at the Bluewater District School Board Education Centre in Chesley beginning at 6:00 p.m., is also open to any members of the public who wish to come and observe.

The purpose of the meeting will be to share information leading to further discussions regarding potential partnership opportunities with the community, and for both school boards to exchange ideas and needs with community partners. A representative from each board will provide an overview of its capital plan, details of possible schools eligible for facility partnerships, and a review of the relevant information available on its website.

This is the second joint Community Planning and Partnerships meeting that is being held by Bluewater District School Board and Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board. The Ministry of Education’s Community Planning and Partnerships Guideline encourages school boards and potential community partners to share planning information regularly, which may lead to mutually beneficial opportunities to share school facilities. This includes new builds or renovations, and when considering the use of unoccupied school space and school properties that may be considered for future disposition.
